Delhi University UG Admission 2024 First Round: The admission process for undergraduate courses in Delhi University is going on in full swing. The list for the first round was released a few days ago and so far more than 46 thousand candidates have finalized their admission. Some have chosen the ‘freeze’ option while some have selected the upgrade option. Broadly speaking, there is a competition among lakhs of students for admission for about 71 thousand seats.
How many students asked for upgrade?
According to media reports, under the first round of DU UG admission, 27613 candidates have opted for upgrade. Whereas 11,224 students have opted for the ‘freeze’ option. This means that they want to think more about the course and college combination offered to them and will take a final decision only after that. Whereas upgrade means that these students want to change the college and course combination offered to them by the university.
today is the last date to pay fees
According to the data, 83,678 students have accepted the first list released by the university, that is, they have accepted the seat offered. In the first round, the university offered seats to 97,387 candidates. Out of these, 46,171 students have approved the admission as they have also deposited the fees. However, the remaining students still have time to confirm their admission by paying the fees. Online fees can be paid today i.e. on 21st August.
Important dates for next round
After the last date of fee submission for the first round is over today, the admission process for the vacant seats will begin in the second round. If we talk about the date, the option to change or increase or decrease the preference of college and course combination will open from 5 pm on August 22. This window will remain open till 4.59 pm on August 23.
In the next phase, the option to pay the fees online and confirm the admission will be available till 5 pm on August 30. During this time, candidates can confirm their seats by paying the fees. The new session is scheduled to begin from August 29.
Applications were received in lakhs
Let us tell you that this time more than 2.45 lakh applications were received for DU UG admission. Out of these, 1.85 lakh had taken the process forward by choosing the course and college. The process of admission to the seats of UG courses here is going on through CSAS i.e. Common Seat Allocation System. Candidates are being given admission on the basis of CUET UG scores.
